Another baseball post...

I am writing this baseball post for several reasons and I will explain all of them as I write.

1) Why did you change your blog from the Astros to the Red Sox? Explanation:

The reason I have changed my blog is because 1. I am extremely disgusted with the Owner General Manager etc. 2. The Astros have gotten rid of almost all of the players I either A. Grew up watching and cheering for. B. the players I love retired and C. They traded players I really liked allot.

This all leads to the next question. 2) Why are you disgusted with everyone? Explanation:

The reason for all of that is because I am NOT just a baseball fan. I am a die-hard baseball player/baseball fan.

That leads to the final question. 3) What do you mean by you are NOT just a baseball fan. You ARE a
die-hard baseball player/baseball fan? Explanation:

This reason might be much longer than the rest. So here it goes... There is a major difference between the two. The differences are simple and yet complex. Baseball is a game of thought, fun respect, and/or passion. Yes, I know the subject was not baseball itself. But baseball itself leads into the answer. A baseball fan loves the game and respects it. Sometimes that fan thinks that they are a "one team" fan but they really are not. Because they love the "GAME" itself. So therefore they are not a "one team" fan.

A baseball player/baseball fan loves the game and all that it pertains. Such as the players, the way it is played, the way players respect the game etc. The players themselves have a completely different outlook on the game (even though in a way it is the same) because THEY are the ones who play. Which means they make rules, they break rules and they abide by ALL baseball rules. See the difference is not in how much you "love" the game. No! It is how much of the "GAME" do you "love" and that in itself is the answer.

Music Generation?!?!...

Earlier today while driving home, my family and I were listening to a music station, other than K-Love, KSBJ or any other Christian station (I for one like all types of music except rap . Because it is just missing the letter "C". I know bad Stephanie! BAD BAD BAD STEPHANIE!) Anyway as I was listening to this song (I really do not remember who sang it or what song it was) my mom was telling my brother she liked the song.

I simply asked "Why?" and this was her response (or something like it anyway!) "Because it is from my generation." I then said "OK, but why do people say from "my generation"? (I used air quotes) I mean I understand that they (the group) were popular when you were younger, but I guess my question is why do people say things like that if it is music? I mean it is a song and if you like the song it really does not matter what "generation" (again air quotes) it is from, because it is a song! Do you understand what I mean?"

My mom then said "I do. I guess people say that because it is from their generation. Do you understand?" So I said "Yeah, but who cares what "generation" (you readers to me...ENOUGH with the air quotes!) the group is from because they make music. Music is music! If you like it you like it! So who cares what era it is from! I mean it is music for crying out loud! Here is one for you mom, when G (my little sister) is a mom and the Jonas brothers come (my sis, mom and I are BIG fans! The Jonas brothers ROCK!) on and she starts to jam, and then her kids say "mom why do you like this band?"

Will she give an answer like you gave to me or would she say "Because they are a great band the music they made ROCKED!" I am sure she would give that answer because when you love music it does not matter what "generation" you come from because music is music!" then my mom put her hand on my forehead and said "You are wise beyond your years!"

So now dear reader I ask you. Because inquiring minds want to know. What do you think is there a "Music Generation" or is it what I said just music?

Thoughts and words.

I have been thinking allot lately on what thoughts and words really mean. I know that it sounds silly but I am one who likes to ask a great deal of questions, and have never really known why. Anyway I got into a fight with someone I love very much the other day (they know who they are.) and it really made me start thinking.

What are thoughts and words. Not meaning what we think or say or even HOW we think or say things. But the actual thoughts and words depths. Yes I know that as a human being (an adult) life really gets ruff and you get into fights with people over stupid things and say stuff you REALLY do not mean, but what is the cause of the outburst in the first place? (you may be asking yourself when you get into a silly fight. I know I do!)

I have come to these thoughts (Knowing this all along, but letting it sink in a wee bit deeper) IT'S SATAN! The Bible says in John 10:10 (the King James Version)
"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."

It is nice to know that HE (Jesus) already kicked Satan's bum so we just have to remind him (now please excuse me for putting it into such ridiculous slang) "WHO's YOUR DADDY SATAN?" (I know laugh at my expense) it is not really us but it is Christ. So again I ask what are thoughts and words? Especially the ones that start ridiculous fights in the first place? I know what the are and why they are put into our subconscious minds. But the whole point of this post is to remember WHO and WHAT is inside us so we can have the V-I-C-T-O-R-Y! Yes the VICTORY!

P.S. To the person I hurt saying only words (but words that cut like a knife) I am so sorry and I ask that you forgive me. I love you! This song is dedicated to you and to all of us who have hurt or been hurt by words that we or those who know us regret saying because we fell into Satan's traps. (Please remember to turn off my play list to hear the song.)

A life changing moment...

This post is dedicated in loving memories of the Hallam family.

January !8th 2008 was Pastor Cindy Hallam's birthday (I do not know how young she is) However 6 years ago on that day my very good friend and sister in Christ, Angela Nicole Hallam went to be with Jesus.

I will tell the story of how I met her. I was going to youth group when I turned 12. I was new to youth group and had never really gone, and I was scared that nobody would like me and stuff like that. I was standing in the back.

Well Angela was in the back (where I was sitting, as I am thinking "why am I here nobody is going to talk to me".) and she saw me starring at my feet and Bible. She then walked over to me and said "HI! Are you new to youth?" Me "yeees. I am" Angie "Well I am so glad Jesus brought you here today! I am Angela!" Me "Hi, I am Stephanie." Well Stephanie, do you know anyone here? Do you have anybody to sit next to?" Me " Um no to both questions."

Angie "Well you know me silly! Anyways since you are new would you like to sit with me?" Me "Um I think I would rather just sit back here, but thanks anyways." Angie "Are you sure? We have more than enough room!" She then picks my hand up and pulls me up takes me to the front row and says "SIT! I really want you to meet my friends!" Me "Ok."

Someone calls her name (It was Pastor Cindy and she was talking with Angie about youth.) As I am sitting in the front row I see her coming back to me "Angela, are you a Hallam?" Angie turning as red as her hair "Yes! I hope we can be friends!" Me "So you are one of Pastor Hallam's daughters?" Angie" Yes! Why?" Me "Well because you do not seem like other PK's" Angie "I know and I try to do that on purpose." Me "Oh! I got ya that is cool!"

All of her "friends" come and she had one of the brightest smiles on her face as she says "EVERYONE!! This is Stephanie! Stephanie this is everyone!" Some of them I knew and we all were just talking and hanging around talking about church and things. The best thing about meeting Angie was knowing that GOD made a horrible situation (or so I thought) become one of the best moments of my life.

Angie went home January 18th 2002 (It was her mom's birthday) she was killed in a plane crash and all I did was cry and think of the story I just shared because it was truly a wonderful thought and memory. I wrote all of this because she was what I wanted to be as a Christian. Angie was a Jesus Freak. So I dedicate this song and post to her... (please remember to turn of my play list to hear the song.)

Movies...

Tonight my younger brother had his 12th birthday party, and the group and I stared quoting and telling each other movies and movie lines. Anyhow as I was quoting my favorite movie of all time (A League Of Their Own) I was thinking about how in life sometimes you can relate a movie to a actual life situation.

I have to many movies that I can relate to (long story) but it made me think is their anyone else who has a movie/life situation? So if you do please leave me a comment about your situation. Thanks-Stephanie
