Today I was chatting with a fellow baseball fan today, and was telling how I know some Astros players. So I have decided to post about them and who I know and also post about how I am such a big Red Sox fan...So here it goes...
Travis Driskill-I know him from his brother and sister in law (I met them at church).
Chris Sampson-I met/know him through my cousin and know him through MySpace (and yes it really is Chris).
Hunter Pence- I met/know him through Myspace and Round Rock Express games.
Luke Scott- I met/know him through Myspace and Express games also.
And the last one I know is Taylor Buchholz I met/know him through Express games and Myspace (we talked at Express games then he gave me his myspace link).
That is how I know them...Now the Red Sox story...
I really have always been a BoSox fan but I became a HUGE Sox fan with these stories.
On August 30th 1990 Larry Andersen (who as I have said before was like a second dad to me) was traded for Jeff Bagwell, something that every 'Stros fan knows right? But here is a story you all did not know...
After he was traded to the Red Sox for Bagsy, he (Larry) had told the Astros General Manager of then that he wanted to tell someone before the press found out (that person being me) He then told me that he was traded for Bagsy. So that is one reason I am a huge Sox fan. But this is the main reason I am such a big fan.
When my family was living in Mass. (just go read my momma's blog http://greatadventure2.blogspot.com/) well the day before Father's Day we got tickets to go see the BoSox play at Fenway Park. Anyway as we are waiting for the gates to open (not knowing were to go) my daddy asks a gentlemen (who was with some friends and all of their kids) "Excuse me sir?" "Yes Sur?" "We are trying to find our seats, will you please help us?"
"Ya not from around here ar ya?" "No sir." "Were ar ya from?" "We are from Texas." "Texas eh? You an Astros fan?" "Yes. We know Jeff Bagwell and Babe Ruth two worst trades in Red Sox history." "You know we have a true Sox fan here" He then looks at all my family and looks at me and says "Come here, come here, What is the one thing that ya have to do in ordea to be a Sox fan?" I then said "If you are implying to hate the Yankees with every fiber of my being. I do!" "We have a die haard Sox fan here folks!" (Because when everyone was starring at us when we told them we were from Texas)
"Good. So here is what ya got ta do, go here, here and here. Oh and make sure ya look at the field" "Thank you so much." "Oh sir I am so excited for ya (he has crocodile tears running down his cheeks) I remembea my first Red Sox game my grandpappy took me I am so happy for ya I hope the Red Sox win for ya!"
As we were walking in every Sox fan there was pushing and shoving us the gentlemen said "Hey part the waaters they aint evea been to Fenway before!" (It was like Moses parting the Red Sea). So that is how I am such a big Sox fan.

A bedtime story....
Last night before I went to bed my sis. and I were talking about the "Bedtime" story that Joe Kingman gives in the movie "the Game Plan" and she and I are laughing about when mom asks "what is that from?" we tell her and she says "ok well we need to go to bed." that is when my sis says to me "big sister, will you tell me a bedtime story? And do not tell the one Joe tells!" SO this is the story I told her...
Once upon a time, there lived a beautiful princess named Stephanie. She was a die-hard Astros fan, and her favorite players were Craig Biggio, Jeff Bagwell, Darryl Kile, Ken Caminiti and Brad Ausmus. She loved going to the Astrodome and one day as she was watching a game she heard that the big bad wolf Drayton McLane Jr. had traded two of her favorite players Ken Caminiti and Brad Ausmus! OH NO!!
The beautiful princess was heartbroken! She yelled as loud she could "YOU WILL REGRET THIS BIG BAD WOLF DRAYTON MCLANE JR!!! Years went by and she continued to go watch her Astros play, when one day she found out that the big bad wolf Drayton McLane Jr. was going to move the team. This devastated the princess until she found out it was to a new stadium not a different Kingdome.
One day the beautiful princess found out that the big bad wolf was at it again, This time trading for a handsome prince named Randon Racke his number was 14. The only problem with this handsome prince is he was really a frog in disguise. The beautiful princess fell in love with this handsome prince not knowing he was really a frog!
Until one day she saw him playing baseball and heard him go ribet. The beautiful princess knew how great of a baseball player Randon was but this hurt her deeply. How could her handsome prince be a frog? “No matter” she thought “I will love him anyway.” and then she gave him kiss and that changed him back into his handsome self for good! The handsome prince and the beautiful princess got married and they lived happily ever after.
The End

Aww how sweet...
Last night as I was watching the Super Bowl (Cheering on the Patriots) I saw this really cute commercial. It is a Budweiser commercial (please forgive me for that) and I am not a supporter of them but I really thought this was a cute commercial...(please make sure you turn off my play list to hear it)...
